Weekly Stewardship
Each registered parishioner is provided with envelopes on a bi-monthly basis to make contributions during Mass.  Please consider making a contribution to the church.  The weekly envelopes are for general operating expenses.  If you wish to give to the Church Restoration Fund, you may use he Building Fund envelopes, but clearly mark on your check that your gift is intended for the Church Restoration Fund.  Please seriously consider the extra monthly gift to help restore our 100 year-old church.

Planned Gifts
We would be honored if you would consider leaving St. John the Baptist Church in your will.  Bequests such as these have a huge impact on keeping the church alive and active.  For more planned giving options such as annuities, and trusts, please call 763-428-2828.

Historical Cookbooks for Sale
The Council of Catholic Women (CCW) is selling Historical Cookbooks that contain a ton of recipes, a rich history of the Dayton area as well as the history of St. John the Baptist Church.  Try two free recipes from the cookbook.  Cookbooks can be picked up after each Mass or at the rectory during the week for $15.  If you would like your cookbook mailed to you, we will do so for an extra $4.50 ($19.50 total).  To order your St. John the Baptist Historical Cookbook by mail, please fill out the order form (pdf format) or (word format) and send it and your check payable to St. John the Baptist Church for $19.50 to Council of Catholic Women, Historical Cookbook Order, P. SCRIP
SCRIP is a wonderful fund-raising opportunity for our parish that does not require any added out-of-pocket expense for its participants. SCRIP is gift certificates that are bought in bulk from merchants at a discount of between 2% and 20%. The gift certificates are in turn sold at face value to parishioners who redeem them for merchandise at full face value of the certificate. The discount the merchant gave on the bulk purchase of the certificates becomes the profit for St. John the Baptist Church.

You can use SCRIP for purchasing your Birthday, Christmas and other gifts or easier yet, just give SCRIP gift certificates as your gift.  You can purchase SCRIP certificates before and after each Mass on the weekends, or for your convenience, you can also print out the order form and bring it in to save time if you wish.

Programs such as SCRIP allow you to buy what you would normally buy anyway with a percentage of your purchase going to the church at no extra cost to you.  All it takes is a little planning and a few minutes of your time to purchase the certificates.  For example, simply purchase a SCRIP gift certificate and pay your weekly grocery bill at Cub Foods and a percentage of your purchase goes to St. John the Catholic Church.

Aluminum Can Recycling
Our regular aluminum can collection usually takes place once a month.  So save those cans and bring them on in to the trailer in the parking lot.  All proceeds will benefit St. John's Church Restoration Fund.  Please bag your aluminum cans in paper or plastic grocery bags or garbage bags. Please do not place aluminum cans back in the cardboard box they came in.  The aluminum can recycling takes place o the fourth weekend of the month.

Computer Cartridge Recycling
We continue to collect laser printer, fax machine, and ink jet cartridges.  Any brand cartridges are accepted.  We encourage you to consider asking at your place of employment if you could collect their used cartridges.  Each cartridge will bring in a monetary donation for St. John's Church Restoration Fund from a local business ranging from 25 cents to $5.00 per cartridge.  A collection bin is located in the vestibule of the church.  Thank you for participating in this fundraiser while at the same time preserving our environment.

Cell Phone Recycling
Do you have "old" cell phones lying around your house from previous servers you are no longer using?  Here's an opportunity for you to turn these phones into cash for St. John's.  Simply bring in any cell phone you are no longer using (any brand phone will be accepted) and drop it in the collection bin located in the vestibule of the church.  Each phone will bring in a monetary donation for St. John's Church Restoration Fund.

Volunteer
There are many opportunities to give.  Monetary support is not the only way to give back to the church and to our Lord.  You may choose to volunteer or offer service to your faith community through your helping hands.  Please check out our Volunteer page.
